SPACE ALLIANCE
Advancing Latin America’s Role in the Global Space Economy
A strategic initiative of COCSA — the Aerospace Scientific Corporation — uniting universities, governments, research centers, and industry across Latin America and the Caribbean to build sovereign space capabilities and accelerate regional innovation.
To bridge the gap between academia, industry, and government — positioning Latin America as an active contributor to the global space economy.
Latin America needs a coordinated space strategy
Space technologies are becoming essential for connectivity, agriculture, environmental protection, disaster management, national security, education, and industrial competitiveness. The LAC Space Alliance exists to transform regional talent and institutional capacity into concrete space programs, shared infrastructure, and sustainable industrial opportunities.
Six Pillars of Regional Space Development
Through the LAC Space Alliance, COCSA fosters regional cooperation in satellite systems, launch industry development, radio astronomy, radar technologies, geospatial services, and space-enabled innovation across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Satellite Systems
Design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of small satellite platforms for regional observation, communications, education, and IoT services.
Launch Industry Development
Building Latin America’s sovereign launch capabilities through industrial partnerships, technology transfer, testing infrastructure, and workforce formation.
Radio Astronomy
Coordinating regional radio telescope networks and advancing astrophysical, educational, and scientific research across the continent.
Radar Technologies
Applied radar systems for Earth observation, disaster monitoring, airspace surveillance, maritime awareness, and national security applications.
Geospatial Services
Satellite-derived geospatial intelligence supporting agriculture, climate resilience, urban planning, environmental policy, and territorial intelligence.
Space-Enabled Innovation
Translating space technologies into terrestrial applications — from precision agriculture and smart infrastructure to energy, education, and entrepreneurship.
A Regional Nonprofit Alliance for Latin America’s Space Future
COCSA — the Aerospace Scientific Corporation — is a Colombian nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the institutional, scientific, and industrial foundations of a sovereign Latin American space sector.
Through the LAC Space Alliance, we extend this mission across the region, connecting universities, research centers, government agencies, companies, and international partners.
Our work focuses on human capital development, strategic partnerships, applied research, and the creation of collaborative projects that position Latin America not merely as a consumer of space services, but as a producer of them.
Universities, companies, agencies, and research centers are invited to participate
The LAC Space Alliance welcomes strategic partners interested in satellite systems, launch technologies, radio astronomy, radar, geospatial intelligence, STEM education, and space entrepreneurship.
